Indian political system has broken down and simply cannot produce leadership to run this country with competence, security and stability. My interest is studying structural problems of our political system and finding alternatives to reform it.  When I say that political system has broken down, this assertion deserve explanation and I have discussed at length in previous articles on how our political system is spiraling into chaos, criminality and Pathocracy (1, 2, 3). Our political system is incapable to produce policy, ideas, administration and direction on anything – economy, foreign affairs, human development, national defense, social mobility, public health, social harmony etc. All these things are in regression.   

 

When I say that our political system cannot create sound leadership, this also deserves to be explained. What is sound leadership? Of course, it means a competent leadership with vision, intellect, ideas and courage to lead the country. But this is pretty generic description so I decided to settle some things. This book will bring clarity to concept of national leadership. This is a benchmark model for a national leader. The qualities, skills, thinking and psychology of national leader is explained and measured with a model. Using this model of national leaders, it now puts into perspective about how bad our national leadership has become in present political system. If you want to measure a national leader, put him/her to the test of this model.   

 

The biggest question of all – How to reform Indian state? Serious thinkers should contemplate on reform of our political and electoral system in a way that can produce national leadership for India in 21st century.

With India going more and more into dysfunction, paralysis and failure, various opinions have emerged on the current state of India. Some blame India's failure on drifting away from principles of Gandhian/Nehruvian vision. Some blame it on endemic institutional corruption that has slowly hollowed out the country. Why Trump won 2024 US elections?
